Recommendations for application of HEXIS self-adhesive vinyl films

(1) For best results HEXIS vinyl films should be applied to clean smooth surfaces free of any traces of oil, grease, wax and silicon. Prior to the application of the vinyl the target surface should be cleaned with HEXIS degreaser and wiped dry with a dust free cloth. Sufficient time should be allowed for the degreaser to evaporate completely after cleaning. Other solvents may alter the target surface or reduce the adhesion properties of the vinyl film. Application should not take place at temperatures below +10°C (+50°F).

(2) All brands of application tape can be used with SUPTAC. We recommend a medium tack high grade transfer tape. For small letters and matte vinyl we recommend use of a high tack application tape. The transfer tape should be applied with care to cover the complete cut vinyl area. Turn over and wipe the paper liner firmly with the help of a HEXIS squeegee with the film facing downwards and the paper liner facing upwards.

(3) To ease positioning and application the target surface may be sprayed with HEXIS application fluid.

(4) To remove the silicone paper from the vinyl the film should be laid upside down, i.e. with the application tape on the work surface and the silicone paper face up. Position the vinyl on the target surface and peel the silicone paper gradually as you progress over the work surface. The silicone paper should always be peeled back from the vinyl, never the other way round. Wipe the vinyl firmly down in wide sweeps and remove the application tape by peeling it back at a 180° angle.
